Yoshiko was born on June 15, 1936 in Okinawa, Japan to Eizih and Kamada (Oshiro) Nakada.
She spent her early life going to school and helping at home to care for her siblings and later found work as a retail clerk in a store in Okinawa. There she met a young soldier named John C. Ryan. They fell in love and were married in Okinawa on February 1, 1957. She accompanied John to many duty stations and cared for their son, John T. Ryan. The family ultimately settled in Junction City, KS.
Yoshiko was a very traditional and private person. Despite her quiet and reserved nature, she was very outspoken when the need arose. She was also a very devoted wife, loving mother, adoring grandmother, and a true friend. She enjoyed playing BINGO. She also dedicated her time in service to her faith in God and to the St. Xavier Catholic Church of which she was a member. She had a very strong catholic faith and love of God.
May God forever hold her in the palm of His hand.
