Memorial services for Yoko Sakagami Ornelas, 76, of Junction City will be 1p.m., Monday, October 13, 2008 at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel, 203 N. Washington, with Pastor Jim Bond officiating. Inurnment will follow at Highland Cemetery. No visitation is planned. Mrs. Ornelas passed away at her residence on October 7, 2008. Yoko was born April 28, 1932 in Hokkaido, Japan to Saijiro and Tomi Sakagami. She worked for Civil Service at the Quartermaster Laundry for many years before going to Irwin Army Community Hospital to work in the Dietary department she retired from there in 1995. She really enjoyed playing Bingo at many Junction City locations, knitting and most of all loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by three daughters; Karen and husband Steve Roles, Joann Board and Linda Sample all of Junction City, four brothers; Satomi, Toru, Mamoru and Hiroshi Sakagami all of Japan, one sister Reiko Minagawa also of Japan, seven grandchildren; Ashley Board, Adrian Board, Desiree Brown, Christopher Roles, Jonathan Sample, Suzanna Sample and Joshua Sample, eight great-grandchildren; Donavan Bello, Kylie Brown, Noah Brown, Aliyah Sample, Alissa Sample, Austyn Sample, Ashton Reid and Adrionna Sample.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Satoshi Sakagami and one sister Yuki Sakagami.
