Yasuko "Jeannie" O'Neal, 79, of Junction City, died Sunday, December 24, 2017 at Geary Community Hospital. Jeannie was born in Japan, the daughter of Hedji Harada and Yoshiko Kijima. Jeannie did all of her schooling in Japan.
Jeannie worked on post at Ft. Riley for 36 years as a Shift Leader at a dining hall. After her retirement from Ft. Riley, she worked at Geary Community Hospital.
Jeannie married George V. O'Neal on May 16, 1962 in Fayette, Mississippi. He survives of the home. Other survivors include: 2 sons, George V. O'Neal, Jr., Brookhaven Mississippi, and David K. O'Neal and his wife Krystal, Junction City; 7 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a son, Melvin O'Neal.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Penwell-Gabel Junction City Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Adam Langston presiding.
Cremation will follow the service.
The family will greet friends on Saturday, beginning at 9:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
