Funeral services for Wilma Phyrnne Pinkerton, 85, Junction City, will be at 2 p.m.,Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at Highland Baptist Church, Junction City, KS with Pastor Brad Seifert officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery in Junction City. Mrs. Pinkerton passed away October 21, 2007 at Geary Community Hospital. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, October 23, 2007 at Penwell-Gabel Mass-Hinitt Chapel, 805 Caroline. Wilma was born July 30, 1922 in Council Grove, KS, the daughter of John Willis and Florence Ida (Rutledge) Tally. She moved to Junction City in 1947. Wilma was a sales person at the Fort Riley PX, J.C. Penny and retired as a food service worker at USD 475. She was a resident of Valley View Professional Care Center for the last seven years.
Wilma was a member of Highland Baptist Church, Eagles Auxiliary #830, Christian and Professional Women's Club, and volunteered in both PTA and Scouts.
Wilma married Harold A. Olson March 16, 1947 in Alta Vista, KS. He preceded her in death on December 2, 1972. She then married Benjamin H. Pinkerton, Jr. on July 26, 1986 in Junction City. He preceded her in death on September 17, 1993. She is also preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Arthur Tally; and sister, Ruth Kahle.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda S. Olson, Junction City; step-daughters, Judy Kirk of Wakefield and Wanda Holley of Goddard; and a step-son, Steve Pinkerton of Topeka; 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jimmie H. Thouvenell, Claude O. Thouvenell, Gary Kahle, Bob Wickwar, Ross Kirk and Randy Kahle.
