Wilma F. McCandless, 92 of Junction City, KS, passed away on Mon., Apr. 5, 2004 at the Valley View Professional Care Center. Cremation was planned with a memorial service at 11:00 a.m., Monday, Apr. 12, 2004 at the Faith Lutheran Church in Junction City. Memorial contributions may be given to the Faith Lutheran Church, 212 N. Eisenhower, Junction City, KS 66441.
She was born on May 29, 1911 in Putnam County, OH, the daughter of Harry S. and Lillian Mae Yenner Haughn. She moved to the Junction City area in 1986.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Faith Lutheran church. She was a graduate of Leipsic High School (1929) in Leipsic, OH.
She was married to Robert D. McCandless, Sr. on Mar. 22, 1933 in Leipsic, OH. He preceded her in death in April 17, 1998.
Survivors include one son, R. Dale McCandless and wife, Lois of Junction City; one brother, Lowell Haughn of Mt. Blanchard, OH; four grandchildren, Timothy McCandless of Overland Park, KS, Peggy Tippin of Waukee, IA, Nancy McCandless of Topeka, KS, and Tammy McCandless of Lenexa, KS; five Great Grandchildren, Andrew, Brian, Krista, Bret and Kaytlin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four sisters, Gladys Champion, Geneva Rogers, Thelma Brecht and Violet Haughn.
Wilma was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be missed by her family and friends.
