Wilma E. Kingsbury, 94, of Junction City, KS, passed away on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at Geary Community Hospital. A funeral service will be 10 a.m. Monday, October 4, 2021 at the Johnson Funeral Home with Pastor Ronnie Roberts officiating. Burial will follow the service at Highland Cemetery. A visitation will be held 3-5 p.m. Sunday, October 3, 2021 at the Johnson Funeral Home. Memorial contributions are suggested to be given to the American Cancer Society.
Wilma was born May 3, 1927, in Smith County, KS the daughter of Henry Elmer and Jennie Mable (Wence) Wilkerson.
Wilma graduated from Franklin High School in Franklin, NE with the class of 1945. Wilma enjoyed sewing. She was an excellent seamstress having made a lot of quilts and clothing for her children and grandchildren. Her greatest passion was her family. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. In later years, she enjoyed traveling throughout the country and taking various cruises. During her last few months of life, she was still planning on taking a trip to Florida.
In September of 1946, she married Harold Bostelmann. They later divorced. She later married Arden Kingsbury in 1948. He passed away in 1998.
Survivors include two sons, Rolland Bostelmann of Emmett, KS and Gayle Kingsbury and his wife Deb of Junction City, KS; two daughters, Ardena Carlyon and her husband John of Junction City, KS and Lana Henning of Rivera Beach, FL; nine grandchildren, Angie Sawyer, Karl Thompson, April Hendricks, Michele Carlyon, Mike Carlyon, Andy Carlyon, Chris Henning, Nick Henning and Matthew Henning; five great-grandchildren, Jayna Sanchez, Destiny Pulliam, Brady Pulliam, Mika Carlyon and Chloe Carlyon; two great-great grandchildren, Lucio Sanchez and Aria Sanchez.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Linda Amper; husband Arden; two brothers, Roscoe and Elda Wilkerson; four sisters, Erma King, Enna Innis, Inez Joy and Iva Strimback.
