Willie Smith

Willie Mae Smith, 75 of Junction City, passed away on tues. Nov. 4, 2003 at the Geary Community Hospital in Junction City. Services will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, Nov. 10, 2003 at the Second Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will be at the Highland Cemetery. Rev. Audrey Toombs will officiate.

Mrs. Smith was born on Nov. 27, 1927 in Muskogee, Oklahoma, the daughter of Willie and Alice (Officer) Underwood.

She was married to Silas Smith, Sr. on July 12, 1947 in Muskogee, OK. He preceded her in death on Nov. 17, 2002.

She was a resident of Junction City for the past 50 years. She was a homemaker and a member of the Second Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include seven sons, Harold Smith, Tulsa, OK., Silas Smith, Jr., Johnnie Smith, Howard Smith, Richard Smith, Michael Smith, all of Junction City and Russell Smith of Topeka; five daughters, Ardette Phillips, San Francisco, CA., Lillie Smith, Junction City, Linda Williams, Junction City, Debra Bevier, Topeka and Brenda Smith of Olathe.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers Curtis and Carl Jones.

Pallbearers will be Wendell McKenzie, Curtis Watson, Robert Stewart, Michael Harris, Eddie Oliver and Herbert Alexander.
