William Welshans, Jr.

William Clark "Bill" Welshans Jr., 68, passed away October 7, 2011 at his home near Attica, Kansas. He was born April 5, 1943 in Sturgis, South Dakota, son of William and Elsie Welshans.

On November 27, 1963, Bill was united in marriage with Joyce Schweitzer. This union was blessed with three children Daniel, Valerie and Noah. Bill and Joyce made their home in Wakefield, Kansas. Bill worked for Montgomery Ward and the Coca Cola Plant in earlier years before going to work for the Water and Water Waste Department until retiring. He also worked at the post furniture shop in Fort Riley. In 2000, Bill and Joyce moved to Attica, Kansas.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Daniel Welshans.He will be deeply missed by his wife, Joyce of the home in Attica; his daughter, Valerie Starwalt of Green, Kansas; and his son, Noah Welshans of Lakewood, Colorado.

Bill brought a lot of laughs to the people he was close with. He will be dearly missed.

Visitation with the family will be held 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, October 14, 2011 at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home - Johnson Chapel, 203 N Washington, Junction City. Cremation will take place after the visitation.
