SGM (Ret.) William "Bill" McDonald, 73, of Junction City, KS, passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2016 at Stormont-Vail Healthcare in Topeka, KS. A graveside with full military honors will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 17, 2016, at the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery 5181 Wildcat Creek Road Manhattan, KS. A visitation will be held 11-12:00 p.m. prior to the graveside service at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home 203 N. Washington Street in Junction City. Memorial contributions may be given to the organization of the donor's choice.
Bill was born March 28, 1943, in Jamestown, TN, the son of Willie and Dorothy (Cravens) McDonald.
Bill served in the United States Army. After retirement, he worked for the Civil Service at Fort Riley, KS. He was a member of the American Legion Post #45 in Junction City.
He married Tomie Sajulga June 28, 1985. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include one step-daughter Paula Barton and husband Dewey of Junction City, KS; one brother, Ernest McDonald and his wife Phyllis of Mishawaka, IN, two sisters, Patsy Eades and her husband Larry of Mena, AR and Sue Smith and her husband Joe of Lawrenceville, GA. He is also survived by one granddaughter Brandy Juarez of Lawrence, KS; one great grandson Tyrell (Michael) Juarez of Junction City, KS and numerous nieces and nephews.
