Memorial services will be held for Wayne J. Fowler, 57, of Wakefield, KS at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at the Madura Congregational Church, Wakefield, KS with Pastor Todd Britt officiating. Mr. Fowler passed away after a long battle with cancer at Mercy Regional Health Center, Manhattan, KS on October 1, 2010. Memorial contributions may be given to the Wayne Fowler Memorial Fund, c/o P.O. Box 54, Wakefield, KS 67487.

Wayne was born March 12, 1953 in Wurzburg, Germany to Joseph Fowler and Thelma(Perry)Fowler LaRose. He worked for many years as manager of the Clay County Parks.

He loved boating, fishing, riding his Harley, arrowhead hunting and being with his family and many, many friends barbequing and drinking beer and Wayne loved to play softball and was very competitive in the game. He played in many tournaments in the years past and continued to play softball until the age of 50.

He is survived by his sons, Nathan Hester and his wife Chelsey of Junction City, KS and Anthony Allen of Wakefield, KS, his brother, Ken Fowler and his wife Holly of Wakefield, KS, sister, Dona DiMambro and husband Daniel of Hollis, NH, two grandchildren, Skylar Hester and Ashtyn Lynn-Lyric Fowler and his nieces and nephew, Daniel Fowler and Briana Fowler both of Wakefield, KS and Lisa DiMambro of Hollis, NH.

He was preceded in death by his father Joseph Fowler and mother Thelma LaRose.
