Wayne Earl Heller, 76, of Junction City, Kansas passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2025 at Stormont-Vail Healthcare in Topeka, Kansas.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 24, 2025 at the Johnson & Mass-Hinitt Funeral Home with Reverend Don Noah officiating. Following the memorial service, a celebration of life service will be held at the Elks Lodge #1037, 723 S. Washington St., Junction City.
Memorial contributions are suggested to be given to the National Rifle Association.
Wayne was born October 30, 1948, in Concordia, Kansas the son of Willis Kiefer and Delia (DeMars) Heller.
Wayne worked for the City of Junction City in the water department as a supervisor until his retirement. He later worked for the Kansas Department of Transportation until his retirement. He had a part-time job working for D-D Mobile.
Wayne was an excellent mechanic having worked on many cars. He was an avid car and gun collector. He owned a 1955 Chevy, a 1967 Pontiac GTO, a 1963 Ford Ranchero and a 1953 Ford F-150. In his early years, he enjoyed camping and fishing. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.
On April 17, 1970, he married Roxie Sacher in Junction City, Kansas.
Survivors include his wife of fifty-five years Roxie Heller of Junction City, Kansas; two sons, Chris Heller and his wife Lisa of Manhattan, Kansas and Gary Heller and his wife Angela of Junction City, Kansas; one sister, Jenny Noah of Des Moines, Iowa; four grandchildren, Wade Heller, Kaylee Heller, Erin Heller and Lauren Heller.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Larry Heller, Terry Heller and Xavier "Buster" Kiefer; one sister, Debbie Yelton.
