Wanda A. Williams, 59, of Junction City, Kansas transitioned to Heaven on Friday, December 4, 2015, at the Good Shepherd House in Manhattan, Kansas. Wanda was born on September 1, 1956, in Sanderson, Florida; the daughter of Mitchell & Minnie (Paige) Givens. She graduated from Baker County High School in Macclenny, Florida, and later earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Business from Upper Iowa University. She also earned a Master's Degree and Doctorate in Theology from Minnesota School of Theology.
Lady Wanda was the beautiful wife of Senior Pastor, Bishop Clarence R. Williams Jr. Along with her husband, she shared numerous pastoral duties within Living Word International Ministries of Junction City, Kansas, and was a living testimony of God's faithfulness to His Word. She was courageous, confident and steadfast concerning the promises of God, and the epitome of excellence. Her resiliency in the face of adversity marked her as a true woman of faith who loved God. Lady Wanda also had a passion for missions, and participated in several oversees mission trips while coordinating one stateside.
Wanda married Clarence R. Williams Jr. on January 3, 1976 in Sanderson, Florida. Bishop Williams survives of the home. Other survivors include: a son, Clarence "Champ" R. Williams III and his wife Nicole, Junction City, KS; a daughter, Nataya "Puddin" Sharp and her husband Jerry, Garland, TX; 6 brothers, Leonard Givens, Roger Givens, Edward Givens, Fredrick Givens, Wayne Givens, all of Boston, MA, and Willie Givens, Sanderson, FL; 3 sisters, Jackie Jackson, Beatrice Blue, both of Boston, MA, and Earlene Palmer, Indianapolis, IN; and 7 grandchildren, Jalen Sharp, Gregory Williams, Clarence "Bobby" Williams IV, Jonathan B. Mitchell Williams, Jernaya Sharp, Leah Williams, and Isabella Williams. Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, and 2 sisters. She is survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; brother and sister-in-laws; and a mother-in-law, Rosa Lee Williams.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 10, 2015, 10:00 a.m. at Living Word International Ministries in Junction City, Kansas. Burial will follow at the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery at Fort Riley in Manhattan, Kansas. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 9, 2015, 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel, Mass-Hinitt Chapel, 805 Caroline Avenue, Junction City, Kansas. Memorial contributions may be made to the Junction City Caring Place, sent in care of the funeral home.
