Services for Walter Mary Fleming, 59, of Junction City will be Saturday, March 27, 10:00 a.m. at Morris Hill Chapel, Fort Riley, Chaplain Schnarr will officiate. Visitation will be Friday, March 26, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Mass-Hinitt Chapel, Junction City. Burial will be at Fort Riley Cemetery. Mrs. Fleming passed away on March 21, at Mercy Health Center. Memorial Contributions may be given to Mercy Community Health Foundation, c/o Oncology Unit, 630 Humboldt, Manhattan, KS 66502.
Mrs. Fleming was born April 17, 1944, Boligee, AL to Walter and Amanda (Smith) Wallace. She worked for Fort Riley Civil Service as a Court Clerk for the Staff Judge Advocate Office for 17 years and had resided in Junction City since 1986. She attended Morris Hill Chapel, Fort Riley and served as secretary for the Fort Riley/Junction City Women's Bowling Association.
She married James E. Fleming March 6, 1964 at Bessemer, AL, he survives of the home.
She is survived by one son; James Fleming, Jr. of Overland Park, KS, one son-in-law; Aron Randle of Junction City, one daughter; Dr. Marche Fleming-Randle of Junction City, two brothers; Wilbert Wallace of Indianapolis, IN and James Wallace of Detroit.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister.
Pallbearers will be George Heard, Robert Carter, Nate Smith, Gil Conners, Carl Williams, Jr. and Bud Jackson
