Memorial services for Virginia "Ginny" L. Seitz, 79, of Junction City will be Monday, February 6, 2006, 10 a.m. at St. Xavier Catholic Church with Father Al Brungardt officiating, Eulogist will be Patricia Seitz. No visitation is planned. Mrs. Seitz passed away February 2, 2006 at Geary Community Hospital. Memorial contributions may be given to the St. Xavier Catholic Church, P.O. Box 399, Junction City, KS 66441 and/or The Geary Community Healthcare Foundation, P.O. Box 3015, Junction City, KS 66441. A private family inurnment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery, Fort Scott, KS at a later date. Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel is assisting the family with cremation arrangements.
Mrs. Seitz was born August 15, 1926, West Plains, MO to Edward and Elizabeth Gertrude (Marshall) Knight. Her first husband Dr. Herbert Crane preceded her in death July 5, 1973. She later married LTG (Ret) Richard J. Seitz, January 12, 1980. Ginny was a homemaker and a member of the St. Xavier Catholic Church, one of the founding members and Past President of The Lady Troopers Organization, The Garden Club, Ladies Reading Club, Junction City Country Club Ladies Golf Association, P.E.O. Member, former House Mother of Pi Kappa Alpha, K-State and a member of several other military ladies auxiliaries.
She is survived by her husband, LTG (Ret) Richard "Dick" Seitz of Junction City, daughter, Nancy Lee Crane of St. George, KS, step-son, Rick Seitz of Alexander, VA, three step-daughters, Judge Patricia Seitz of Miami, FL, Dr.Catherine Seitz of Houston, TX and Dr. Victoria Seitz of San Bernadino, CA, one granddaughter, Jordan Christine of Little Rock, AR.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother William Marshall Knight who was a Fighter Pilot lost in World War II.
