A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, June 29, 2013, at the Penwell-Gabel Mass-Hinitt Funeral Chapel for Virginia L. Schorling, 86, of Junction City. Reverend Ronnie Roberts will officiate. Virginia passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at the Enterprise Estates in Enterprise, KS. A visitation will be held 9:30 a.m. Saturday until service time at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Highland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the C.L. Virginia was born May 7, 1927, the daughter of Warren and Sarah (Procter) Mitchell. She has lived in the Junction City Community her entire life.
Virginia was a bookkeeper for Goad Ford Auto Dealership for many years. She graduated from Junction City High School. She enjoyed quilting and square dancing. She was a member of the Rebecca Lodge where she served as president. Virginia and her husband Guy spent many years camping with the Good Sam Camper Club.
She married Guy Schorling June 21, 1946. He passed away July 22, 2001.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers Bowen, Frank and Monroe Mitchell and five sisters, Mae Vines, Flora Pratt, Vearleen Beer, Dorothy Dean and Mary LaMont.
Survivors include two nieces, Teresa Ryan and her husband Mike of Junction City and Sally Murrison and her husband Jim of Chapman. She is also survived by other numerous nieces and nephews.
