Virgil Lee Isaac 63 of Junction City passed away on Thursday, August 18, 2011 at his home. No services are planned. Penwell Gabel Mass-Hinitt Chapel is assisting the family with cremation arrangements. Virgil was born November 30, 1947 in Red Oak, IA to Alanson & Dorothy (McGimsey) Isaac. He later married Nancy Jarvis.
Virgil was a retired E-8 from the United States Army. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with a silver and bronze star, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm Unit, Overseas Service Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, Driver Badge, Expert 16 Rifle, Army Commendation Medal with 1st Oak Leaf Cluster and a Meritorious Service Medal.
Virgil is survived by his wife Nancy Isaac of the home; three sons; James Skalberg of Cullman, AL, Kenny and Mark Isaac both of Junction City. A brother Jim Isaac of San Diego, CA. A sister Lois Sands of Red Oak, IA. Two grandchildren Jamie Lyn Skalberg, Jr of Red Oak, IA and Spring Dawn Skalberg of Cullman, AL. A great grandson, Carter James Skalberg of Red Oak, IA.
He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
