Virgil Dean Gauntt

Funeral services for Virgil Dean Gauntt, 63, Junction City, KS will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, June 9, 2005 at First Presbyterian Church in Junction City, with Pastor Matthew Glasgow officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. Mr. Gauntt passed away June 5, 2005 at St. Francis Hospital in Topeka, KS. A visitation will be held from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 8, 2005 at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel in Junction City. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 113 West 5th, Junction City, KS 66441 and/or Geary County 4-H Foundation, P.O. Box 28, Junction City, KS 66441.

Mr. Gauntt was born August 1, 1941, Junction City, KS to Dewey and Clare (Johnson) Gauntt. He worked at local auto parts stores and was currently employed with Waters True Value Hardware. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the Marine Reserves for six years.

He married Diana Dutoit June 2, 1973, Dighton, KS, she survives of the home.

Mr. Gauntt is also survived by one son, Bryan Dean and wife Dora Gauntt of Manhattan, KS, one daughter, Rachel Gauntt Weaver and husband Aaron of Atchison, KS, one brother, Calvin Gauntt of Milford, KS and three grandchildren, Megan, Kelly and Tim Gaunt.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry and Herbert Gauntt and two sisters, Violet and Bernadee.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Gauntt, John Gauntt, Bryan C. Gauntt, Mike Gauntt, Mark Gauntt and Glen Bourisaw
