A. Viola Jones Manns
A memorial mass will take place 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 23, 2007, at St. Xavier Catholic Church for Alvina Viola Jones Manns, 86, Topeka, Kansas. Father Al Brungardt will officiate. A parish rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. prior to the memorial mass. Inurnment will follow the service at St. Mary's Cemetery. Viola passed away Saturday, August 18, 2007, at Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka, Kansas. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Xavier Church 218 N. Washington Street Junction City, Kansas 66441.
Viola was born March 1, 1921, in Hutchinson, Kansas the daughter of Herman B. and Pearl L. Rumble Jones.
Viola was a homemaker. She lived in Junction City for many years before moving to Topeka several years ago with her husband Eugene "John" Manns. She was a member of St. Xavier Catholic Church in Junction City, Sunflower Quilt Guild and the EHU.
She married George Anderson December 31, 1939. They were divorced. She later married Eugene "John" Manns November 27, 1954. He passed away May 2, 2006.
Survivors include two daughters, Viola Anderson Dreyer of Topeka, Kansas and Donna Anderson McCain of Valley Falls, Kansas. She is survived by four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband John and four brothers, Marvin Jones, Lawrence Jones, Bernard Jones and her twin brother Dwight Jones.
