Funeral services for Vincent S. Huey, 85, of Junction City, KS will be 10:30 am, Saturday, April 2, 2005 at the First United Methodist Church with Pastor Paul Wolf officiating. Visitation will be Friday, April 1, 2005, 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at First United Methodist Church. Cremation will follow funeral services. Mr. Huey passed away March 29, 2005 at Mercy Regional Health Center, Manhattan KS. Memorial Contributions may be given to the First United Methodist Church, 804 N. Jefferson, Junction City, KS 66441 and or Friends of Animals, PO Box 580, Junction City, KS 66441.
Mr. Huey was born March 29, 1920, Belvue, KS to Vincent S. and Virgie L. (Stratton) Huey, Sr. He graduated from Wamego High School in 1938. He joined the U S Army May of 1942 until October of 1945, serving in Germany and France. He worked for Humphrey, Coover and Coates Chevrolet as Parts Manager from 1946-1966, he then worked Civil Service at Fort Riley for the Supply area from 1967 until his retirement on March 29,1985. Vincent and his wife volunteered for Hospice for a 20 year period. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
He married Dorothy Jeane Keener, December 13, 1942, Manhattan, KS, she survives of the home, other survivors include two daughters; Peggy Bennett and husband Ben of Junction City, KS and Phyllis Gibson and husband Buck also of Junction City, KS
He was preceded in death by his parents, one half-sister, Olive Ramsey, and two half-brothers, Fred and Lloyd Lippincolt.
