Vidala Syko, 74, of Junction City, KS, passed away on November 19, 2018 at her home. Burial will take place at a later date in the Philippines.

She was born on April 28, 1944, Mandaue City, Cebu, Philippines to Arcadio and Jovila (Real) Velasquez. She was the third child of the family with five siblings.

After graduating High School, she worked in a shoe store as a saleslady, to put herself through school. She stopped working in the shoe store to open her own business, a convenience store. After that she managed a boarding house until she married.

On August 17, 1989 she married John Syko and he brought her to the United States. John and Vidala lived in Junction City, Kansas.

Vidala had high morals with good values and pride. She was a disciplinarian. She did not like to ask for help ,but preferred to work for it. She loved to stay home and do household chores. She was a workaholic and loved to help her family. She was God's gift to her family and will be greatly missed.

Vidala is survived by her loving husband, John; two brothers, Petronio Velasquez and Carlito Velasquez; and numerous extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Arcadio Velasquez, mother, Jovila Real-Velasquez, two sister, Paulina Dacus and Virgensita Mondido, and brother, Francisco Velasquez.
