Memorial services for Vera Marie Tate, 85, Junction City, KS will be 10:00am Friday, May 26, 2006 at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel with Rev. Marilyn Cox officiating, Private inurnment will follow at Lyona Cemetery. No visitation is planned. Mrs. Tate passed away May 20, 2006 at Good Samaritan Center. Memorial contributions may be made to Lyona Methodist Church and may be sent in care Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel, 203 N. Washington, Junction City, KS 66441

Vera was born October 3, 1920 in Dickinson County, KS the daughter of Edwin Frank and Christina Melinda (Miller) Gugler. She graduated from Woodbine High School in 1939. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Lyona Methodist Church and First United Methodist Church in Junction City and had taught Sunday School there. She was a member of Eastern Star.

She was married to O. Waldo Tate January 30, 1940 in Manhattan, KS. He preceded her in death July 24, 1994. Surivivors include two sons; Morris W. Tate, Alexandria, VA and Robert J. Tate Colorado Springs, CO.; two daughters Joann K. Campbell St. Charles, IL and Roxann T. Leard, Batavia, IL; three sisters Gladys Sandstrom, Topeka, KS, Doris Middleton, Columbia, MO and sister-in-law, Lylas Gugler, Abilene, KS.: 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Kenneth, Burton, Merle, and Wayne Gugler; sister Joyce Gugler..
