Memorial services are planned for Venetta "Nita" Mae Ross Ellis, 54, of Junction City at the home of her daughter Stacy on Friday, March 5, at 2 p.m. Venetta passed away on February 24, 2010 at Mercy Regional Hospital, Manhattan, KS after a lengthy illness.
Venetta was born on July 16, 1955 to Joseph and Hazel Temple in St. Louis, MO.
She was preceded in death by her mother Hazel, a brother, Nathan, a sister and her husband, Elnora "Pigg" and Wendell "Wimp" Duvernay, and a brother-in-law, Wiley "Sonny" Lately.
She leaves to cherish her memory, daughter, Stacy and her husband Willie Brown and son Tymothy Wildman both of Junction City, KS. Six brothers; John Henry Smith of Tylertown, MS, McKinley Hammond and wife Gloria of Lorraine, OH, Jesse Hammond and wife Carol Ann of Junction City, KS, Louis Hammond and Joseph Hammond both of Topeka, KS, Earl "Ricky" Temple of Scranton, PA, Two sisters; Vera Lately of Topeka, KS and Shirley and husband Thomas Finch of Wichita, KS. Six grandchildren; Nizha, Steven, Marcus, Donea, Dominique and Tiara and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Our beloved Nita will truly be missed and never forgotten.
