Funeral services for Velma A. Wolf, 93, of Junction City will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, February 25, 2011 at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel, 203 N. Washington Street. Reverend Todd Britt will officiate. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Mrs. Wolf passed away at Geary Community Hospital on February 19, 2011. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorials be made to the Home Care and Hospice, c/o Geary Community Health Care Foundation, P.O. Box 3015, Junction City, KS 66441 and the Shriner's Hospital for Crippled Children, P.O. Box 2778, Salina, KS 67402-2778.
Mrs. Wolf was born December 27, 1917 Broughton, KS to Charles F. and Maud C. (Sherbert) Seitz, she grew up in Wakefield, KS where she graduated with the class of 1936. She married Cloyd M. Wolf March 31, 1940 White City, KS and they had four sons, Corby, Kelly, Lanny and Brody.
Velma worked as a cashier for Junction City High School from 1961-1968 and was a homemaker and a busy mother attending her sons sporting events and her home was always open to the neighborhood kids. Velma was a member of the Ladies Eagle's Auxiliary she loved to cook and also enjoyed going fishing.
Her husband Cloyd preceded her in death July 25, 1997.
She is survived by her four sons; Corby F. Wolf and wife Pat of Milford, KS, Kelly R. Wolf and wife Sylvia, Lanny L. Wolf and wife Pam and Brody J. Wolf and wife Nikki all of Junction City, KS, seven grandchildren, six step-grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, sister Bernice Sheppard and one great grandson Skyler Gorton.
Pallbearers will be Ryan Wolf, Justin Reich, Brett Reich, Matt Miller, Alan Heidrick and Marc Crosby.
