Uta M. Ritter, 76, of Junction City, KS, passed away on Monday, December 7, 2015 at Valley View Senior Life Center in Junction City. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, December 10, 2015, at the Penwell-Gabel Johnson Funeral Chapel with Pastor Brad Seifert officiating. Private inurnment will take place at Highland Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to be given to the Guillian-Barre Syndrome Foundation International P.O. Box 262 Wynnewood, PA 19096
Uta was born on May 6, 1939, Frottstadt, Germany the daughter of Justin and Hilde (Herrmann) Streit.
She was a member of Zion United Church of Christ. Uta affectionately known as "Sam" worked for Milleson Auto Supply in Junction City as the bookkeeper for twenty five years having retired in 2004.
Uta was an avid gardner. She enjoyed working and spending time outside. She raised beautiful flowers and took a lot of pride with her yard. She enjoyed all aspects of nature and outdoor animals. Uta also enjoyed German food and a good cup of coffee. She enjoyed spending "Omi" time with her granddaughter Grace.
On November 21, 1960, she married John F. Andrzejewski. They were later divorced. Mr. Andrzejewski passed away May 3, 1982, On April 27, 1986, she married Bill Ritter. He passed away February 27, 2005.
Uta is survived by her loving daughter, Ursula Popovich and her husband Scott of Junction City, KS; Son, Alex C. Ryan of Wichita, KS; Granddaughter, Grace Popovich;
She was preceded in death by her parents.
