Trishaya Euniq Jelks, 25, went home to be with her Lord on August 3, 2014, at her home.
Shay was born on October 5, 1988 at Leolpoldina Krankenhaus in Schweinfurt Germany. She was born to Tracy Jelks Coppin and Eugene Jelks. Trishaya was a beautiful baby, "So Unique" from the very start. Shay attended Early Childhood, Middle and High Schools in Vero Beach, FL, Fort Knox, KY, Clarksville, TN and Fort Campbell, KY. Shay received her Diploma from Manhattan High School, thru Flint Hills Job Corps, located in Manhattan, Kansas. When Shay was a child, teachers reported her to be a "ray of sunshine". Shay's personality and humor gained herself many friends of all ages. She was always the life of the party; people enjoyed being in her company.
Prior to illness, Shay made her home in Wichita, KS and was employed as a Home Health Aide. She utilized her talents and gift of love and kindness to care for clients who possessed various special needs. She relocated back home to Fort Riley/Junction City, KS after the remission of illness.
Shay was an active member of New Church of the Living God, in Junction City, KS. NCOTLG is where she accepted Christ as her Savior, and was also there, baptized on 21 July 2013.
Shay loved God and she loved people. Whatever she had, she wanted to share with others. she had a genuine and generous way of reaching out and touching people, thru word and or deed. She believed in and desired peace amongst those around her. Her faith was tremendous and her expression was, "don't worry, just pray."
August 3, 2014, Shay's journey in this life was complete; peacefully as she slept, she was called home to be with Jesus.
Shay was proceeded in death, by her precious Angel, Shayson Dantrell "Dan" Jelks.
Left to cherish loving memories of Shay, are her Mother & Step-Father, Tracy/Jason Coppin, her Father & Step Mother, Eugene/Sharon Jelks; Sisters, Trayshonda, Eugena and Ireanna Jelks, Brothers Javius and Jaden Jelks; Step Sister, Brittany Sanders. Step Brothers, Luther Stinson, Gabriel Shervington, Jason, Julian and Justin Coppin; Nephews Travion Rivers, Calvin Colbert and Niece Eliyah Johnson; Grandparents, Willie Pearl Trawick, Johnny/Zella Jelks, Helen Green, Clarence/Debra Rodwell; God-Mother, Deondra Kimble; Beloved Friend and Care Giver, Amber "Bree" Gresham; Dedicated Friend, Amanda Verbeck and a host of Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.
"I will love you forever, I will like you for always. As long as I am living, my baby you will be." Spread your vivid colorful wings my sweet Butterfly.....fly high, sailing across the sky! No more pain and suffering my love. Your Legacy shall live forevermore thru me and those I encounter.

A Homegoing Service will be held to celebrate her beautiful life at 11:00 am on Monday, August 11, 2014, at the New Church of the Living God in Junction City, Kansas. A visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the time of the service at 11:00 am.
Services are under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel.
