Thomas W. Hall

Thomas Wayne "Tom" Hall, 61, of Junction City, passed away unexpectedly Friday, May 21, 2021 while playing the sport he loved surrounded by a group of guys he adored. He will forever be remembered as a loving, affectionate husband, a devoted, attentive father, and a proud grandpa, a.k.a. Papa.

Visitation will be held Thursday, May 27, 2021 from 5 pm to 6:30 pm, followed by a Memorial Service at 6:30 pm at Johnson Cremations, Funerals & Receptions 203 North Washington Junction City, KS 66441.

Tom was born on February 22, 1960, in Fort Sill, OK to William and Mary (Hutto) Hall. He married his high school sweetheart, Cynthia (Atkinson) Hall and the 2 were happily married for over 41 years.

Tom worked at Fort Riley for over forty three years. His first career was working for non-appropriated funds. At the time of his death, he was a civil servant working as a supervisor at the supply warehouse.

Tom could carry on a conversation with anyone and didn't know a stranger. In fact, there were not many times that he wasn't talking, which is a trait he picked up from his mom. He was known by many for his "dad jokes" and often let others know that he couldn't be conceited, "because conceited is a fault and (he) doesn't have any."

Tom would do absolutely anything for his family. He was the go-to guy to bring forgotten pillows to his daughters when they were at sleepovers, which then turned to bringing forgotten lunches and water bottles to school for his grandbabies. He was the field trip dad, then later field trip grandpa. There was even one time Tom, aka grandpa, went to Sonic at 9pm to get one of his grandsons a specific Sonic toy because the little guy didn't get the "right" one earlier that day. Tom was known as grandpa and papa to not only his grandsons but so many other children. He was born to be a grandpa. However, the love of his life was no doubt his wife Cindy, who he often referred to as his "girlfriend" or "dolly". They went everywhere together, holding hands the whole way. Tom was known to sing at the top of his lungs to Cindy (and may have been told to be quiet by his daughters at least once or twice). The two were more than husband and wife, they were best friends. If Tom was not taking his "dolly" on a motorcycle trip, he could be found cheering on one of his grandsons at their sporting events, or fixing something for someone. Tom was one of a kind, a family man, a friend, and a helper.

Tom is survived by his wife, Cynthia E. (Atkinson) Hall; his two daughters, Amy M. Boeckman, husband Nathan and Melanie J. Hall, husband Ryan Hill; 4 grandsons, Miles Hall, Kaden Boeckman, Brody Boeckman, Bentley Boeckman and two step grandsons, Braeden Hill and Garrett Hill; 4 siblings, Pamela J. Hulen (Bob), Mary L. Marshall (Joesph), William W. Hall Jr. (Kim), and Wesley T. Hall (Anne); and several nieces and nephews.

Tom was preceded in death by his father, William W. Hall; mother, Mary Frances Hall, and granddaughter Ava Rae Boeckman. We all know there was a wonderful reunion between them all.
