Thomas R. Bruce, 74, of Milford, KS, passed away on Sunday, July 15, 2018 at Geary Community Hospital in Junction City, KS. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at the First Christian Church, 1429 St Mary's Road, Junction City, KS with Pastor Ronnie Roberts officiating.
He was born on January 21, 1944, Polk County, Iowa to Joseph and Ruth (Wallace) Bruce.
Thomas worked as an electrician and plumber. He worked for J.L. Williams Heating and Air. He was a member of the American Legion Post #45 and the Eagle's Lodge #830. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing poker and bingo. Thomas enjoyed flying radio controlled airplanes. He belonged to the Milford Lake RC Club.
On September 6, 1963 he married Cherryl Odell in Ames, IA.
Thomas is survived by his loving Wife, Cherryl of the home; two sons, James Bruce and wife Diedra of Herington, KS and John Bruce and companion Jayme Stites of Lost Springs, KS; one daughter, Pamela (Bruce) Reece of Wakefield, KS; one sister, Betsy Rowe and her husband Bill of San Diego, CA; one brother-in-law Clair Odell and his wife Alice of Davenport, IA; thirteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son Joseph Bruce; son-in-law Bobby Breese; daughter-in-law Susan Bruce and one grandson Casey Rathbun.
Dove Cremation and Funeral Service, of Junction City, is assisting the family with arrangements.
