Theona May Lane

Funeral services for Theona M. "Pat" Lane, 87, of Junction City will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, June 20, 2011 at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel, 203 N. Washington Street. Father Al Brungardt will officiate. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, June 19, 2011, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel. Mrs. Lane passed away at her residence on June 15, 2011. Memorial contributions may be given to Home Care & Hospice, c/o Geary Community Health Care Foundation, P.O. Box 3015, Junction City, KS 66441.

Mrs. Lane was born January 25, 1924, Junction City, KS to Frank A. and Grace (Koons) Thomas. She worked as a waitress at the Spic and Span restaurant for 10 years then as a clerk in the Water Department for the City of Junction City for 16 years retiring in 1981. She was an avid reader and enjoyed painting, gardening and dancing and spending time with her family.

She married John E. Lane in Miami, OK he preceded her in death November 1, 1999.

She is survived by one son, John Lane, Jr. (Nancy) of Manhattan, KS, six daughters; Penny Chapman of Ludington, MI, Sherall Lane and Pam Engstrom (Cliff)and Patricia Lane all of Junction City, KS, Evelyn McNealey (Jim)of Clarksville, TN, Linda Lane of Davenport, IA, one sister, Ramona Watson of Littleton, CO, one brother, George Thomas (Violet) of Kansas City, KS and twenty six grandchildren, fifty four great-grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren and two great-great-great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Keith Samuel Thomas.

Pallbearers will be John Elmore, George Lockett, Troy Eacker, John Lane, III, Timothy Lane, Scott Seel and Corey Beckstrom.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Jim McNealey, Cliff Engstrom, Harold Beckstrom and Allen Elmore, Bernard Lane and Bo Lane.
