Theodore "Ted" N. Tatro, 70, of Junction City, KS, passed away surrounded by family at Salina Regional Medical Center July 4, 2017.

Funeral services will be held on Friday July 14, 2017 at the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery at Fort Riley, 5181 Wildcat Creek Rd., Manhattan, KS 66503. A private family gathering will be held the night before.

Ted was born on March 26, 1947, in Garden City, Kansas to George and Adelaide (Foster) Tatro. As a young man he joined the United States Army and proudly served his country for over 20 years until his retirement in 1992. His many military achievements and accomplishments include but are not limited to: National Defense Service Medal, Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal (5th Award), Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal with 1st Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Service Ribbon, NCO professional Development Ribbon "3", Overseas Service Ribbon "3", and Army Lapel Button.

During his military service, Ted met and fell in love with Jantanast. They married and had two children. The family accompanied him all over the world with his military service. He and his family ended their travels at Ft. Riley, Kansas and made their home in Junction City, Kansas.

Ted was a dedicated husband, caring father, and loving grandfather. He was also an avid hunter and gun enthusiast.

He will be greatly missed.

Ted is survived by loving wife, Jantamast "Toy" Tatro of Junction City, KS; daughter, Crystal (Kelly) Edwards of Junction City, KS; son, Tawan Tatro of Junction City, KS; mother Adelaide Tatro of Kingman, KS; two brothers, Fr. Timothy Tatro of Kingman, KS, and Thomas A. (Barbi) Tatro of Kingman, KS; two sisters, Teresa A. Tatro of Hutchinson, KS, and Tonya M. (Raymond) Arnett of Garnett, KS; granddaughter, Mikynzie Tatro; and grandson, Jaxyn Edwards. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his Father, George L. Tatro.
