Thelma M. Lindquist
Thelma M. Lindquist, 101, of Junction City, formerly of Milford, died Oct. 6, 2014 at Valley View Senior Life. Thelma was born Nov. 22, 1912 in Geary County, the daughter of Harrison and Bernice (Thomas) Woodbury. She attended school in Milford and graduated from Milford High School in the Class of 1930. She later graduated from Brown-Mackie Business College in Salina in 1931.
Thelma and her husband had lived in Mexico, MO, and later Sedalia, MO, before moving back to Milford in 1972. Thelma was the City Clerk for the City of Milford for 19 years.
She was a member of the Milford Congregational Church, the Milford Missionary Society, the Milford Friendship Club, the Milford E.H.U., the Salina Business /Professional Women's Assoc., and the Sedalia Wesley United Methodist Church.
Thelma married Myron Lindquist in Salina on Dec. 29, 1940. He died Feb. 24, 2003. Survivors include: 2 granddaughters, Teri G. Cook and her husband Doug, Independence, MO, and Kristy K. Anderson and her husband Shawn, Edwardsville, KS; a sister, Genevieve Junghans, Junction City; 4 great-grandchildren, Austin C. Anderson and his wife Christina, MacKenzie J. Anderson, Cody A. Cook, and Alexis G. Cook; a nephew, Greg Junghans and wife Pat, and a niece, Jane Liberator and husband Matt. She was preceded in death by a son, Barry Lindquist.
Graveside services will be 4:00 p.m., Friday, Oct. 10, 2014 at the Milford Cemetery, Milford. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Milford Congregational Church, sent in care of Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel, 203 N. Washington, Junction City, KS 66441.
