SSG (Retired) Joseph Daniel Estrada, 80, of Junction City, KS, passed away on October 16, 2019.
Visitation will be held Friday, October 25, 2019, from 6:00 pm. to 7:30 pm. with a rosary following from 7:30 pm to 8:00 pm at the Johnson Funeral Home, 203 N. Washington St., Junction City, KS.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2019, 11:00 am, at the Johnson Funeral Home, with Pastor Ronnie Roberts officiating. Cremation will follow the services.
A committal service with full military honors will be held Monday, October 28, 2019, at 10:00 am at the Kansas Veteran's Cemetery, 5181 Wildcat Creek Rd., Manhattan, KS.

Joseph was born on August 18, 1939, in Belvedere, California to Daniel and Petra (Santa Cruz) Estrada.
He married Joyce Jones-Kidd, on April 12, 1985 in Miami, Oklahoma. They later renewed their vows on September 3, 2006 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with Fr. Al Brungardt officiating.
Joseph joined the United States Army on October 20, 1972 and retired November 1, 1992. His many decorations and awards include but are not limited to: the Army Service Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal with Bronze Star, Army Lapel Button, Good Conduct Medal (6th Awd), NCO Professional Development Ribbon "1",Overseas Service Ribbon "2", Army Commendation Medal, Driver Badge with Bar, Southwest Asia Service Medal with 3rd BS, Kuwait Liberation Medal, and Expert (M-16 Rifle).
After his retirement, he worked at the Fort Riley Commissary and retired from there on January 3, 2007.
He will be missed.
Joseph is survived by his loving family: two brothers, Richard and his wife Margaret Estrada of CA, and Martin Estrada of AZ; two sisters, Yolanda Aida and her husband Raul Mena of CA, Elsa and her husband Erik Mejia of CA; step-son, Alan and wife Linda Kidd of KS; and a host of loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Joyce Estrada, sister Nedda Olcean, and brother-in-law John Olcean.
