SSG (Ret) Francis J. "Frank" Kopetzky, Sr., 75, of White City, Kansas died Thursday, July 27, 2023 at Ascension Via Christi Hospital in Manhattan, Kansas. Cremation took place. A graveside service will take place on Monday, August 7, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Kansas Veterans' Cemetery with full military honors.
Frank was born October 14, 1947, in Jersey City, New Jersey the son of Frank and Dorothy (Griener) Kopetzky.
Frank served in the United States Army and retired after twenty years as a Staff Sergeant. He served two tours of duty in Vietnam and one tour in Germany and one tour in Turkey. During his military career, he was awarded many medals. After his retirement, he worked numerous jobs until his last employment with Alco in Abilene, Kansas for ten years.
He married Maxine D. Hulmes at Fort Dix, New Jersey on February 22, 1968.
Survivors include his wife Maxine of the home in White City, Kansas; one daughter, Michelle McLean and her husband Chris of Cheyenne, Wyoming.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son Frankie Kopetzky, Jr. in 2017.
