Funeral services for Shirley A. Goetsch, 73, Junction City will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, February 12, 2010 at Penwell-Gabel Mass-Hinitt Chapel, 805 Caroline Avenue with Reverend Joyce Allen officiating. Burial will follow at Alida Evangelical Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8pm Thursday, February 11, 2010 at the Penwell-Gabel Mass-Hinitt Chapel. Mrs. Goetsch passed away February 9, 2010 at Mercy Regional Health Center. Memorial contributions may be made to Church of Our Saviour United Methodist Church, 1735 Thompson Drive, Junction City, KS 66441.
Shirley was born December 26, 1936 in Junction City the daughter of Theodore H. and Stella M. (Hasselman) Coop. She was a homemaker and lived in Junction City all of her life. She was a graduate of Junction City High School.
Shirley was a member of the Church of Our Saviour United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. She volunteered for Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, church offices and Valley View rest home for many years. She loved to sew and was a bear collector.
She married Rudolph Goetsch Nov. 10, 1955 at Fort Riley, KS he preceded her in death April 15, 2008.
She is survived by one son, Rudolph H. Goetsch, Jr and wife Kathy, and a daughter Kimberley A. Goetsch-Clark and husband Jeff both of Junction City, sister, Iola M. Arthur of Mineral Wells, TX and four grandchildren, Courtney M. Goetsch, Jeffery D. Clark, Chelsea A. Clark and Schyler T, Clark.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and a brother Ronald E. Coop.
