Shirley Ann Cogar, 81, of Junction City, KS, passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2020 at Residence surrounded by her loving family. A visitation will be held Wednesday, July 8, 2020, from 11:00 am. to 12:30 pm. Following the visitation, a graveside service will be 1:00 pm at Highland Cemetery with Pastor Ronnie Roberts officiating. Memorial contributions are suggested to be given to Accord Hospice.
Shirley was born December 13, 1938, in Lantz, W.V. the daughter of Erskin and Marie (Nixon) Booth.
Shirley worked as a CNA for many years in McKeesport, PA. She spent her working career caring for other people. When her children were younger she was a great homemaker and mother. She was known for her wonderful baking skills. She enjoyed baking cakes and cooking for her family. When she lived in Germany she volunteered for the American Red Cross.
Shirley is survived by one son, Robert Cogar of Junction City, KS; four daughters, Janie Brunner and her husband Rusty of Madison Heights, VA, Lucinda (Cindy) Cogar of Junction City, KS, Virginia Glacken and her husband Gary of Junction City, KS and Mary Glacken and her husband John of Junction City, KS; twelve grandchildren, twenty eight great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren Noah and Sadie.
She was preceded in death by her parent; two sons, James Edward, Jr. and Gilbert Lee and her siblings.
