Shirley Ann Brooks

Shirley Ann Brooks, 74, of Junction City, died March 14, 2017 at Geary Community Hospital in Junction City. Shirley was born August 20, 1942 in Junction City, the daughter of Walter and Esther (Otte) Peterson. Shirley grew up in Junction City, and attended Junction City schools. She was a homemaker.
Shirley enjoyed crocheting and going to flea markets.
Shirley was united in marriage to Merle Brooks on March 9, 1973 in Junction City. Merle survives of the home. Other survivors include: 2 sons, Glenn Glaser, Portland, Oregon, and Bruce Glaser, Abilene; 2 daughters, Audrey Dietz and her husband Richard, Saltsburg, PA, and Amanda Outain and her husband David, Chandler, AZ; a brother, Kenneth Peterson and his wife Jean, Junction City; 7 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Judy Adams in May, 2001.
It was Shirley request to be cremated.
The family will greet friends on Monday evening, March 20, 2017 from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at the Penwell-Gabel Junction City Funeral Chapel in Junction City. Memorial contributions may be made in Shirley's name to the Wakefield Care & Rehabilitation Center, 509 Grove Street, Wakefield, Kansas 67487.
