Shirley B. Haley, 82, of Junction City, passed away Monday, October 27, 2014 at Geary Community Hospital.
She was born December 3, 1931, Fort Riley, KS the daughter of John Patrick and Virginia (Leighton) Haley. She was a graduate of Marymount College and KSU and was a lifelong member of the Junction City Community and of St. Xavier Catholic Church. She was a member of the St. Xavier Church Circle IV and Clark's Creek EEU
Shirley was a teacher for many years with USD 475.
She is survived by her cousins LaQuita (Leighton) Wallace and David Leighton both of Wichita, KS; Robin (Leighton) O'Connor and Pamela (Leighton) Volker both of San Diego, CA.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday, November 3, 2014, at the St. Xavier Catholic Church with Father Kerry Ninemire officiating, interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. A visitation will be held 3-5 p.m. Sunday, November 2, 2014, at the Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel, 203 N. Washington Street with a Vigil Service conducted at 4 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Sisters of St. Joseph, 1300 Washington Street, Concordia, KS 66901.
