Sharon Wilburn

Funeral services for Sharon K. Wilburn, 66 of Junction City will be Thursday, December 2, 2010 at 11a.m. at the Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel, 203 N. Washington St. with Reverend James Callaway officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 1, 2010 from 6-8 p.m. at the Penwell-Gabel Johnson Funeral Chapel.

Mrs. Wilburn passed away on Sunday, November 28, 2010 at Geary Community Hospital. Memorial contributions may be given to the Johnson Center for Basic Cancer Research at Kansas State University, 1 Chalmers Hall, Manhattan, KS 66506 or First Baptist Church, 624 N. Jefferson, Junction City, KS 66441.

Mrs. Wilburn was born June 18, 1944 in Couch, MO to Paul & Juanita (Blankenship) Roberts. She later married Melvin Wilburn in Alton, Missouri on August 21, 1965.

She worked as a Cashier Supervisor at AAFES at Fort Riley for 47 years and was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Mrs. Wilburn is survived by her husband Melvin Wilburn of the home, a son Brandon Wilburn of Newport News, VA, three brothers, Ray Roberts and his wife Janet of Couch, MO, Paul Roberts and his wife Maxine of Thayer, MO and Kelly Roberts and his wife Wanda of Whitwell, TN.

She is preceded in death by her parents and one sister Betty Pingleton.
