SGM (Ret) Kenneth "Ken" Lloyd Pruitt, 70, of Milford, KS passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2013, at Mercy Health Center in Manhattan, KS. A graveside service with full military honors will take place 10 a.m. Monday, November 4, 2013, at the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery near Manhattan, KS. A visitation will be held Sunday, November 3, 2013, from 3-5 p.m. at the Penwell-Gabel Johnson Funeral Chapel, 203 N. Washington Street, Junction City. He was born on May 27, 1943, in Eldon, Missouri the son of Lloyd Edward and Jessie Fay (Sandfort) Pruitt.
Kenneth retired from the United States Army after serving over twenty eight years. He retired at the rank of SGM. After his retirement, he worked Civil Service at Fort Riley. Ken enjoyed cooking, baking and fishing. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
On January 26, 1964 he married Catherine Kuretich in Eldon, Missouri.
Kenneth is survived by his loving Wife, Catherine, his Son, Matthew Pruitt (Michelle) of Junction City, KS; two Daughters, Karen Stuber (Chris) of Junction City, KS and Sandra Albin (Cory) of Wilsey, KS. He is survived by three brothers, Wayne Pruitt, Alan Pruitt, David Pruitt all of Eldon, MO. He is also survived by nine grandchildren - Katelynn Albin, Samantha Pruitt, Jessica Stuber, Julia Stuber, Kari Albin, Cortney Albin, Dillon Albin, Bryan Mangrum, Brady Haines; four great-grandchildren - Madyson Stafford, Madilyn Stafford, Amara Albin, Arabelle Starr.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
