SFC (Ret) Russell D. Hagen, 80 of Milford, KS passed away on February 11, 2013 at Mercy Regional Health Center. Cremation has taken place with the assistance of Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel and no visitation is planned. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., on Monday, February 18, 2013 at the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery with full military honors. Chaplain Stan Jasiurkowski will officiate. Memorial contributions have been designated to the Friends of Animals, P.O. Box 580, Junction City, KS 66441.
Russell was born September 18, 1932, Lime Lake Township, MN to Fred and Leona (Getzel) Hagen. He was a veteran of the Korean War and Vietnam and retired after 27 years of service to his country. He then worked for the City of Junction City Water Department and the C.I.D. at Fort Riley, KS and JC Transportation.
He married Luise Enzinger October 14, 1958, Munich Germany.
He was very fond of animals and he loved his Poodle "Buddy" and his two cats, Blacky and Kitty.
He is survived by his beloved wife Luise of Milford, KS his Brother-in-Law, Willie Enzinger of Salzburg, Austria, his nephews Lucas Enzinger of Austria and Lonnie Hagen, his nieces, Gabriella Luthy of Switzerland and Debra Hagen of MN, his cousin, Sissy Walker (David) of Kokomo, IN, three Sister-in-Laws and four Brother-in-Laws all of Austria.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his Brother, Ernest Hagen.
