May 15, 1921 — February 24, 2012

SGT (RET) Joe E."Pollock" Lisiecki, 90, of Junction City, KS passed away February 24, 2012 at Geary Community Hospital. Cremation has taken place with the assistance of Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel. Memorial services will be held with full military honors at 10 a.m., Friday, March 2, 2012 at Kansas Veteran's Cemetery, Manhattan, Kansas. Memorial contributions have been designated to the American Legion, 201 E. 4th Street, Junction City, KS 66441.

Joe was born in Pittsburgh, PA May 15, 1921 to Joseph and Anna Lisiecki.
He joined the Army in February 1941, stationed at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii so he had a front row seat when America was pulled into WWII. He was a Pearl Harbor Survivor and a Korean War vet. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW and the 40&8. After retiring from the Army he went on to work Civil Service at Fort Riley.

He was very proud veteran and even more proud to have served his country.
Joe took it upon himself to stand guard at veteran's viewings because he felt it was what he needed to do to pay his respects to them and their families.
He never met a stranger, everyone was a friend. Always had a smile on his face….

Joe is survived by his three children, Gary Lisiecki and Greg Lisiecki and his wife Carole all of Gretna, NE and Dianna Tucker and husband Jeff of Cypress, TX. He has 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
