Gerald J. Fortier, 88, of Milford, KS, passed away on July 8, 2019.
A graveside services will be held at 10:00am on July 17, 2019 at the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery, 5181 Wildcat Creek Rd., Manhattan, Kansas, with full Military Honors.
A visitation will be held the night before on July 16, 2019 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at the Johnson Funeral Home of Junction City, Kansas, 203 N. Washington Street.

Jerry was born on July 12, 1930, in Detroit, Michigan. As a young man he joined the United States Army and proudly served over 26 years. During his time in service he received many awards and decorations to include but are not limited to: National Defense Service Medal (1st Oak Leaf Cluster), Army of Occupation Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with "1960" Device, Mechanic Badge, Good Conduct Medal (6th Award).
Jerry traveled to many duty stations domestic and abroad. He was also a Vietnam Veteran. Jerry was a lifetime member of the VFW and a member of the American Legion.
He will be missed.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Mary of the home, and a host of loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
