On Sunday, May 5, 2019, Charles Morris Martindale, loving husband and devoted father of three, passed away at the age of 67. Charles was born on May 2, 1952, in Jacksonville, FL the son of Charles and Elizabeth (Morris) Martindale.

He entered military service with the U.S. Army in June of 1970. After a stellar twenty one year career, he retired at the rank Sergeant First Class, with the 4th Battalion, 37th Armor, 1st Infantry Division (Mechanized) Fort Riley, Kansas. He is a Desert Storm Veteran and a Bronze Star Recipient for Meritorious Achievement in a combat zone. On April 19, 1973 he married Sun Tok Kim of Chonnam-do, S. Korea. They raised one daughter and two sons.

Charles had an avid interest in history and politics. With an infectious smile and laugh he was known to invigorate any room he entered. His sense of humor and quick wit was second to none. His compassion for others was well known by all that knew and loved him.

Charles is survived by his wife, Sun; three children, Cinthia, Charles and Steven; three sisters, Pamela, Linda and Virginia and six grandchildren.

A visitation will take place 11-12:30 Friday, May 10, 2019, at Mass-Hinitt Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. following the visitation with full military honors at Kansas Veterans' Cemetery. .
