SFC James T. Hoffman, 41, of Wakefield, KS, died January 27, 2004 in Khalidiyah, Iraq. Visitation will be Thursday, February 5, 2004, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with vigil service at 7:30 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel, Junction City, KS. Funeral service will be Friday, February 6, 2004, 10:00 a.m. at the Main Post Chapel. Chaplain Willoughby and Chaplain Fukes will officiate. Burial will be in Fort Riley Cemetery with full military honors. In lieu of flowers please give memorial contributions to the James T. Hoffman Memorial Fund, c/o Fort Riley National Bank.
James was born August 16, 1962 at Chicago, IL to Fred and Patricia (Muldoon) Hoffman. He graduated from Palatine High School in Chicago. He married Vickie Pierce June 21, 1989 at Clarksville, TN. James and his family resided in Wakefield, KS, previously living in the Fort Riley, KS and Manhattan, KS area.
He is survived by his mother; Patricia of Palatine, IL, his father; Fred Hoffman of Cary, IL, his wife; Vickie of Wakefield, KS, two step-daughters; Regina Macon of AL and Angela Macon of AR, four brothers; Fred Hoffman of New Jersey, Dan Hoffman of Atlanta, Tommy Hoffman of Orlando and Eric Hoffman of Chicago, one sister; Barbara Lemke of Chicago, three grandchildren; Chelsea Macon of Wakefield, Brando Reese of AL and Tyler Macon of AR.
