Sarah Joan Charland

A memorial mass will take place at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 26, 2007, at St. Xavier Catholic Church for Sarah Joan Charland, 81, Milford, Kansas. Father Frank Coady will officiate. A visitation will be held 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 25, 2007, at the Penwell-Gabel Johnson Funeral Chapel. Cremation will follow the visitation. Memorial contributions may be given to the Hospice and Home Health Care at Geary Community Hospital c/o Geary Community Health Care Foundation P.O. Box 3015 Junction City, Kansas 66441 or to the Ronald McDonald House c/o Penwell-Gabel Johnson Funeral Chapel.



Sarah was born June 29, 1926, in Hannibal, Missouri the daughter of Glenn D. and Cora (Sherwood) Todd.



Sarah was the General Manager for Days Inn Motel in Junction City for seventeen years. She served as the President of the Kansas Hotel - Motel Organization. She also served on the Geary County Tourism Board and the Junction City Country Club Board. She was a member of St. Xavier Catholic Church in Junction City.



She married Bob Charland October 11, 1952, in Kansas City, Missouri. He survives.



Other survivors include four sons. Stephen Charland and his wife Kim; Mike Charland and his wife Lori; John Charland and his wife Dianna and Rob Charland and his wife Michelle. Surviving grandchildren are Greg, Bailey, Mariah, Hillary, Morgan, Maggie, Adam, Dillon, McKenna, Noah,
