Samuel M. Vigil, 89, of Junction City, KS, passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2022 at Legacy of Herington. Cremation will take place. A memorial service is pending at Kansas Veterans' Cemetery with military honors.
Samuel was born May 11, 1932, in Eaton, CO the son of Joseph P. and Mary Esquivel Vigil.
Samuel served in the United States Army. At an early age he learned plumbing. He worked as a civil servant at Fort Riley for many years. He later owned and operated Sam Vigil Plumbing and Heating in Junction City. He was a member of the American Legion Post #45, Eagle's Lodge and the Elk's Lodge. He enjoyed fishing.
He married Irma Williams. They were later divorced.
Survivors include one son, Mark Vigil of Junction City, KS; one daughter, Mary Taylor of Junction City, KS; three sisters, Julie, Frances and Mary Lee; nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; nephews, nieces and a host of other friends and relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sons, Sammy, Johnny and Paul; one daughter, Vivian Grimes; several brothers and sisters.
