Sally Lorraine Lawson

June 5, 1928 — January 12, 2023

In Loving Memory of Sally Lorraine Lawson (Galarneaux) 1928-2023

Sally passed away peacefully at home on January 12, 2023. She was born June 5, 1928, in Stockton, California and moved to Santa Rosa, California during her childhood.

Sally met her husband Larry Lawson after he returned from military duty in Panama during WWll. They were married October 31, 1948, and made their home in Santa Rosa. The years following they raised a family of three children and enjoyed life. Sally loved camping, fishing, bowling, picnics at Bodega Bay and other beaches located on the Sonoma coast, and also loved traveling during Larry’s retirement years.

After Larry passed away, Sally moved to Junction City, Kansas, in 2003 to be closer to her daughter Toni and “favorite” son-in-law Bob Wolff. Bob loved teasing her about fixing her an old sock to eat because she had lost her sense of smell and taste after she quit smoking in 1995. Sally moved in with Toni and Bob in 2015. She loved using her computer and was pretty good with games and Facebook. Sally had an ornery sense of humor in which she and Bob had ongoing teasing matches. She loved her Werthers candy and always had a pocket full. She loved playing games with family and especially watching game shows when she stayed with her granddaughter, Augusta.

Sally is survived by daughters, Toni Wolff and Bonnie Lawson; one son, John Lawson (Kim Keller); grandchildren, Jamie Walsh (Calvin Conary), Sarah Brown, Augusta Gutmann (Andrew), Joshua Seal, Taylor Robello (Andrew), Keller Lawson; and great grandchildren, Chloe Seal, Brian and Lizzie Brown, Scarlet Walsh, Ari and Izzy Gutmann.

Sally was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Dorothy (Allison) Galarneaux; brothers Langley and Pete; sisters, Jeanne and Dorothy; husband, Larry; son-in-law, Bob Wolff; and grandson-in-law, Matthew Walsh.

A private family celebration will be held at a later date TBD.

Memorial donations can be made to Broken Wing Ranch Ministries (https://brokenwingranchministries.org) or First Christian Church, Junction City, Kansas.
