Ruth V. Byers

Funeral Services for Ruth V. Byers, 68, Junction City, will be held at 10:00am Tuesday, November 22. 2005 at Penwell-Gabel Mass-Hinitt Chapel with Pastor John Byers officiating, Burial with full military honors will follow at Fort Riley Cemetery. Mrs. Byers passed away November 16, 2005 at Geary Community Hospital. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00pm Monday, November 21, 2005 at Penwell-Gabel Mass-Hinitt Chapel. Ruth the daughter of Charles and Alice Bowers was born May 15, 1937 in Greeley, CO. She served as a WAC in the US Army.She was married to Ray Byers July 2, 1957 in Junction City. She was employed by USD 475 in food services. She was also employed at Rolling Meadows Golf Course in food services and in later years worked in Home Healthcare. Ray preceded her in death August 13, 1982.

Ruth is survived by two sons Charles Byers, York, NE and John Byers, Oceanside, CA; two daughters Fredia Beggs, Kansas City, MO and Sarah Hires, Junction City, KS; one sister Ginger Boggio of Minnesota; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and 2 sisters.

Pallbearers will be provided by the Forty Riley Honor Guard.

Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Byers, Arthur Hires, Michael Beggs, Christopher Byers, Leslie Beggs and Geoffrey Beggs.
