Ruth O. Tibbitts

Funeral services for Ruth O. Tibbitts, 89, Junction City, will be 10 a.m. Monday, November 20, 2006 at First United Methodist Church with Reverend Paul Wolf officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. Mrs. Tibbitts passed away November 15, 2006 at her home. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Sunday, November 19, 2006 at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel, 203 North Washington. Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, 804 North Jefferson, Junction City, KS 66441and or Junction City Hospice, 1310 West Ash, Junction City, KS 66441.

Ruth was born November 27, 1916 in Frankfort, KS the daughter of Henry and Florence (Ratliff) Ferris. She worked for Geary County as an appraiser, retiring in 1978 as Deputy County Appraiser.

Ruth was a member of First United Methodist Church and a member of the Women's Circle and a member of Eastern Star.

She was married to Malcolm Tibbitts, he preceded her in death March 26, 1978.

Survivors include, one son and daughter-in-law, David and Karen Tibbitts of Junction City; four grandchildren, Racheal Hedgcoth, Overland Park, KS, Tony Tibbitts, Christopher Tibbitts, and Angie Tibbitts, all of Kansas City, MO; and five great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be David Tibbits, Tony Tibbitts, Christopher Tibbitts, Michael Hedgcoth and Jason Hurt.

Musicians will be Joel and Judy Hofer
