Ruth "Diane" Hopkins, 70, of Junction City, Kansas formerly of LaCrosse, Kansas passed away on April 27, 2023 at Stormont Vail - Flint Hills Campus in Junction City, Kansas. Cremation will take place. A graveside service will be conducted 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 13, 2023 at the LaCrosse Cemetery. A meal will be served immediately after the service catered by Mrs. Charlotte Peters.
Diane was born August 20, 1952, in Victoria, Texas the daughter of William Hubert and Helen Louise (Mouser) Kite.
Diane was a factory worker and housekeeper for many years. She enjoyed sewing and fishing. Her biggest joy in life was surrounding herself around her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. If she wasn't spending time with family, fishing or sewing, she was working in her yard. Diane was known for having an impeccable lawn. It was a family New Year's tradition to have a meal on January 1st to start the new year.
She married Larry David Hopkins December 27, 1990 in Brownwood, Texas. He passed away April 15, 2023 in Brownwood.
Survivors include two sons, William F. Cody of Burdett, Kansas and Billy Joe Cody of Rockdale, Texas; one daughter, Victoria Nelson and her husband Rick of Junction City, Kansas; two step-children, Jason Hopkins and Christine Merrick both of California; two brothers, Joe William Kite and Walter Kite; five sisters, Janice Smith, Mozzell Kite, Serena Allen, Sara Lutz and Nona Kite; eight grandchildren, Kynthia, David, Zackery, Sarha, Nathen, Ivy, Cordell and Rose; ten great-grandchildren, Chassidy, Derek, Theron, Carter, Isabella, Kristopher, Kynthea, Sophie, Axl and Juanita; two step-grandchildren, Morrigan and Skye; one step-great grandson, Nixon; many nephews, nieces and great-nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; six siblings, Martha, Brenda, Cecil, Ricky and Freddy and one great-granddaughter, Harper Thompson.
