Roy Sender, 86, of Junction City died on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at Valley View Senior Life Center. Cremation has taken place with the assistance of the Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel and graveside services will take place at 1p.m., Friday, October 12, 2012 at Dwight Cemetery.
Roy was born August 18, 1926, Manhattan, KS to Roy and Agnes (Thompson) Sender, Sr. He served in the U S Navy and the U S Army. He married Esther I. Fiest, October 24, 1945 at Wilmington, CA. He and his wife owned and operated S&S Used Furniture in Junction City.
Esther preceded him in death February 25, 2002.
He is survived by his son, James Sender of Junction City, KS, his daughter, Vickie Sender of Castro Valley, CA, four grandchildren; Michael Byrne, Eric C. Byrne, Jeff J. Sender and Jennifer Danielsen and five great-grandchildren; Sean Byrne, Ryan Byrne, Jeffrey Sender , Odin Danielsen,Christian Danielsen and his Brother-in-Law, Rex Hunt.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Bonnie Tyson.
